We Know the Importance of a First Impression

You know the old saying: “You only get one chance to make a first impression.”

If this is your first visit to our blog, we want to make a good first impression to ensure you understand how Wooded Glen Recovery Center can help you regain and maintain your sobriety. After all, deciding to get help for a substance use disorder is one of the most consequential decisions you can make—and where you get that help matters.

Oh, and if you are a regular visitor to this blog, welcome back. We hope you already have a positive impression of us and our services—and that this entry just reinforces those feelings. And if you have been putting off getting the treatment you need, we hope this blog post provides the nudge you need.

We’re On a Mission to Improve the Lives We Touch

An organization’s mission statement can be short and punchy, long and complex, or somewhere between. At Wooded Glen Recovery Center, our mission statement reminds us what our primary goals and responsibilities is. Our mission is, simply, to improve the lives we touch.

We say “simply,” but the truth is that providing exceptional treatment for substance use disorders is not a simple endeavor. To help us stay focused on the goal, we keep six key values at the forefront of our efforts. Those values are:

    • Honesty: We value integrity and fairness in all that we do.
    • Competence: We always strive to do our best work.
    • Perseverance: We are not afraid of challenges.
  • Passion: This work is our calling.
  • Respect: We respect each other and every person we serve.
  • Teamwork: We find success in our efforts by working together.

We Have a Range of Effective Treatment Programs

Wooded Glen Recovery Center is dedicated to helping individuals get and stay sober. To accomplish that goal, we provide an array of services designed to meet specific needs and situations.

An essential part of these services is our medically supervised detoxification program. The rigors of withdrawal make it extremely difficult to give up drugs or alcohol on your own. The Wooded Glen Recovery Center’s detox program provides a safe environment that is free of temptations. Round-the-clock monitoring ensures that you can weather the challenges of intense withdrawal symptoms.

The Wooded Glen Recovery Center residential program offers a robust approach to rehabilitation. With a combination of individual and group therapy, we provide resources, strategies, and support that will give your recovery a firm foundation. At the same time, we can address co-occurring mental health disorders (like depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and more) that are often entangled with a substance use disorder.

Outpatient treatment—whether as a first approach or as a follow-up to residential treatment—can also be an effective option while allowing participants to continue to attend to many of their day-to-day responsibilities. Wooded Glen offers a day program (or partial hospitalization program) as well as an intensive outpatient program.

Wooded Glen also offers a recovery program specifically for those who have served in the armed forces. The Tactical Recovery program is built around the specific needs of Veterans who find themselves struggling with drugs or alcohol, a mental health disorder, or both after their service comes to an end.

Because substance use disorders impact entire families, Wooded Glen Recovery Center offers a family program. The program teaches families how to help a loved one avoid a relapse, identify enabling behaviors, avoid codependency, communicate in a healthy way, rebuild trust in relationships, and manage stress via self-care practices.

When a person’s time in treatment comes to an end, they can still count on Wooded Glen to provide continuing care, an alumni program, and access to the CaredFor app, which is a powerful digital tool for building community and continuing to learn effective approaches to maintaining your hard-won sobriety.

Together, these programs provide help and hope to people who are struggling with a substance use disorder. As a result, they allow us to fulfill our mission of improving the lives we touch.
