Sometimes products and services seem interchangeable. Sure, there are people who will only drink Coca-Cola or only drink Pepsi, but most cola drinkers are happy with either. Sure, the brand-name cereal has attractive packaging and a major marketing campaign, but the generic option is likely just as good (and cheaper, too). Sure, certain products capture the imagination of folks for a while, but soon enough knockoffs and alternatives level the playing field again.

Does the same idea apply when it comes to choosing a treatment center to help you overcome a substance use disorder? It might seem like any center will do—and we want to be clear that, generally speaking, getting treatment somewhere beats not getting treatment anywhere. That said, we would make the case that it does, in fact, matter where you pursue treatment.

It probably will not come as a surprise that we think Wooded Glen Recovery Center should be at the top of your list when you are ready to leave drugs or alcohol in the past. But it would not be fair for us to just declare such a thing and expect you to take our word for it. So let us provide you with a list of reasons we believe Wooded Glen is the place for you if you are struggling with a substance use disorder.

Reason Number One: Wooded Glen Is…well…in the Woods

When you are in treatment, it is important that the environment is right for you to do the work necessary to get your recovery underway. Fewer distractions, less noise, and more beauty can all be factors that support your efforts.

Wooded Glen Recovery Center is set on 500 private acres in Henryville, Indiana. Our location offers a peaceful and secluded space far from the rush and responsibilities of daily life. We are also located near Clark State Forest, the oldest state forest in Indiana, which covers 24,000 acres and includes seven lakes. Getting out into the natural world can be a wonderful way to support your recovery. In fact, here is a previous post that uses Clark State Forest as a jumping-off point for thinking about several aspects of the recovery journey.

This photo tour offers a good sense of our beautiful location.

Reason Number Two: Wooded Glen Is Committed to Personalized Treatment Plans

At Wooded Glen, we understand that every individual we serve has a unique story and unique needs. That is why we never fall back on cookie-cutter approaches to treatment of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Instead, we personalize evidence-based practices to address your specific situation. In other words, we are dedicated to working with you rather than working on you. We take a holistic approach to treatment, which means we work to heal the mind, body, and spirit. We undertake that work by listening to you and gaining an understanding of how we can most effectively help you get your recovery underway.

Reason Number Three: Wooded Glen Offers a Full Continuum of Care

Treatment for a substance use disorder is a multi-step process—and each step is essential to providing a firm foundation to build your recovery on. At Wooded Glen, we will see you through medically supervised detoxification, allowing you to clear drugs or alcohol from your system in a safe environment that is free of temptations. We follow detox with a rehabilitation process built around individual and group therapy. In rehab, you will learn skills and strategies that will serve you well in recovery. This is also the part of the process during which we can address mental health disorders that may be entangled with your substance use disorder.

When your time in treatment comes to an end, you can count on Wooded Glen to provide ongoing support through our alumni program, which also keeps you connected to others who truly understand your journey because they are on a similar path. We also offer a family program because we know that a substance use disorder affects more than just the person who has been using drugs or alcohol.

Reason Number Four: Wooded Glen Is Consistently Recognized Among the Best

We have been honored to be named among Newsweek Magazine’s best substance use treatment centers in the nation for five consecutive years. Of course, we do not do this work in order to win awards, but the recognition highlights our ongoing efforts to provide the best possible care and support to the people we serve.

This consistent recognition is a reflection of our dedication to our mission and values as well as of our training that underpins our expertise, our years of experience, and our spirit of empathy. Our focus is always on helping you with the highest levels of competence and kindness.

The Time to Get Help for a Substance Use Disorder Is Right Now

Too often, individuals struggling with a substance use disorder put off getting treatment for one reason or another. Those reasons might include embarrassment, a belief that the problem is not that bad, or uncertainty about where to get help (we hope we have addressed that last one with this post!).

Each day you put off getting help is another day substances can upend your life. We are ready to help right now.
